I saw a strange entry on my credit card statement saying “G-Mall Ltd Greenhithe”. I had never been to Greenhithe, certainly not on the date of the purchase, so I racked my brain, receipts and emails to see what had happened.
Apparently this is the way that credit card purchases for the sunglasses and belt company The Buckle Shop, who may have barrows/stalls and shops all over the shopping centres of the UK, appear. I had indeed bought sunglasses from them, but in Milton Keynes, so the Greenhithe suffix was a red herring. I suggest that they remove it from their merchant details and include instead the town of purchase, to avoid confusion like mine and, I guess since you are reading this, yours too.
